cloth diapers part2

Research!!

Now I know that I'm only 12 weeks pregnant and it may seem a little early to be thinking about all of this, but from my experience (x2) each pregnancy goes by quicker.  and since i'm nearing the end of my first trimester i need to start preparing. we have so many things going on right now and i can't leave this until the end :)

So here's what I've found and what I think i'm going to go with....

I really like the cloth nappies from Bambino Mio. Their website says that I will need...
-24 of each size nappy (available in size 1 and 2)
-3-6 nappy cover in each size
-biodegradable mioliners (don't really need this until baby is on solids)
     -miofresh nappy cleanser

plus i'd love to have their nappy bucket + laundry bags (which can go straight from the bucket to the washing machine without having to touch those stinky diapers)

You have two parts to using a cloth diaper
1. the nappy
2. the cover

and there are some pretty cute covers out there so that we won't have to stick with just the Bambino Mio covers.

although cute.. they only have white or two others that offers colors.  And i'm looking forward to my new little with a cute little bum like this one. so much cuter than a disposable diaper bottom.  don't you think.

so here are some other options for the nappy covers.

Thirsties what i like about these is they are adjustable to grow with your baby.

I mean seriously look at that cute bottom :)

Here are another one I found
CharlieBanana : the only think I'm not really sure about with these is they have a pocket on the inside of the cover to place the nappy. and knowing that a newborn will go through LOTS of diapers... especially a breastfed baby!! And the idea of having to go though covers and nappies at least 7 to 10 times a day seems very expensive.  what i liked about the Bambino Mio is that I can reuse the cover and only change the nappy (unless of course there is a blow out, which i know is bound to happen) but using maybe 3 to 4 covers a day compared to 7 to 10 seems a little bit better on cost and the amount of laundry to do.

but they are still cute. this one is from their 2010 line

So there you have it for my first day of research.... not bad for a snow/packing day :)
